FitMiss Delight or Shakeology: Which Is The Better Value?

In the FitMiss Delight vs Shakeology showdown, which one wins? I’m going to take a look at ingredients, nutrition, taste, and price to determine which one is best.

What Is FitMiss Delight?

FitMiss Delight is a meal replacement shake that can also be used as a nutritious snack. It’s available in three flavors: Cappuccino, Chocolate Delight, and Vanilla Chai. You can get the 2-lb container for around $30.00.

It’s not just any old protein powder or generic meal replacement shake. It contains a proprietary green and fruit blend with things like flax seed, barley grass, broccoli, cranberry extract, mango seed extract, spinach, pomegranate rind extract, and lemon bioflavonoids, as well as a blend of digestive enzymes designed to help you-you guessed it—digest it more easily.

The protein in this is a blend of whey protein isolate, Solathin™ Potato protein (good for satiety), egg albumin, micellar casein (slow-release protein, also good for satiety), and whey protein hydrolysate (which digests more quickly because the protein has already been partially broken down with heat).

FitMiss Delight Pros

  • Reviewers seem to like the taste.
  • More affordable than Shakeology, by far.
  • You get more servings per container than Shakeology.
  • It comes in interesting flavors.
  • It does contain a digestive enzyme blend, which a lot of protein powders don’t have.
  • It’s gluten-free and low in carbs (4 grams in the Chocolate Delight vs. chocolate Shakeology’s 17 grams)

FitMiss Delight Cons

  • It contains sucralose.
  • There’s not as robust of an ingredients list as Shakeology.
  • It contains artificial flavors.
  • It contains some unrecognizable ingredients (like carboxymethyl cellulose).
  • There’s no vegan option.
  • There aren’t a lot of flavors to choose from.

What Is Shakeology?

Shakeology is a superfood-packed meal replacement shake that can be mixed with water or milk (dairy or non-dairy) and your choice of additional ingredients (if you want them) to switch up the flavor.

With those superfoods, you get prebiotics, probiotics, vitamins, minerals, and digestive enzymes. Shakeology is designed to “support healthy weight loss, regularity, and healthy digestion.” It contains no artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors, or preservatives, and is based on whole foods. One of the claims on the bag is that it “provides healthy energy.”

The protein itself (in the regular, non-vegan shakes) is a blend of whey, pea, sacha inchi, chia, flax, and quinoa. The vegan version is made up of peas, oat, chia, flax, and quinoa proteins. The difference in ingredients can give the vegan version a slightly grainier texture, but it was never off-putting to me. It simply wasn’t as smooth as a milkshake. The regular version was just creamier.

It’s available through Beachbody and can be delivered through an auto-ship program. You get to choose from a big bag of one flavor or packets of one flavor or a variety of flavors. You are allowed to switch your flavor each month as long as you give them enough time to make the change before your next shipment goes out.

Shakeology Pros

  • It’s available in a box of packets or one large bag. Packets are convenient but be aware that you’re not getting as many servings when you purchase it that way (24 vs 30).
  • Choosing the packets allows you to get a mix of flavors for the month, rather than just one.
  • In my experience, it increases energy and decreases cravings for sweets.
  • It’s kind of nice to have your meal replacement shake automatically show up at the door when you’re running low. It’s something you don’t really have to think about going out to buy.
  • The flavors are basic enough to mix well with lots of other things.
  • Tastes great to me!
  • A vegan option is available.

Shakeology Cons

  • The price alone is enough to make some people run far, far away in search of other options.
  • You have to order through Beachbody or a coach. (You know how I feel about MLM services!)
  • You may experience pressure to be a coach (you get a discount, but because you have to pay a small fee for Beachbody to host your website, process orders for your customers, etc, it’s not as much of a discount as it seems to be on the surface).
  • The flavors aren’t that creative and I personally didn’t care for the vanilla at all (the not-so-great flavor of the vanilla one seems to be a common complaint).
  • Can be clumpy if you just toss it in a shaker cup with liquid and shake it up. Best used in a blender (as most powders are).
  • Some people report a funny aftertaste, or not enjoying the flavor at all. I personally don’t notice any odd aftertaste and have enjoyed Chocolate (regular and vegan), Tropical Strawberry (vegan), and Strawberry flavors. I did not enjoy Vanilla and haven’t tried Café Latte or Greenberry. See the full Shakeology flavors list below.

Shakeology Flavor Options

You can find Shakeology in the following flavor options:

  • Chocolate (Whey & Vegan)
  • Vanilla (Whey & Vegan)
  • Strawberry (Whey & Vegan)
  • Cafe Latte (Whey & Vegan)
  • Cookies & Creamy (Vegan)

The Price Difference

There is a big one! It’s around $130.00 for a bag of Shakeology with 30 servings compared to roughly $30.00 for FitMiss Delight with 36 servings. FitMiss Delight is the clear winner in this category.

You can save a little money on Shakeology if you sign up to be a coach (you don’t have to be an active coach, you can be what’s called a “discount coach” who just gets the discounted rate and doesn’t try to build a team or make sales). However, you’re still paying the coaching fee, so the average price with a discount is still around $115.00.

Which One Is Better?

If you can afford it without stretching your budget too thin, my vote goes to Shakeology (in this comparison only!). However, there are other meal replacement shakes on the market that hit that middle ground of no artificial colors or flavors, a decent amount of protein, and some extra nutritional benefits like Primal Kitchen’s protein powder (it’s not vegan, though).

I vote for the Shakeology option based on the fact that I know several of the flavors taste good, I like the texture, I recognize everything on the ingredients list, and there aren’t any artificial sweeteners in there (that’s a big one for me!).  If you feel fine about using artificial sweeteners (and flavors) in your own diet and don’t experience any adverse effects when you do, you may be fine with the FitMiss Delight meal replacement shake.

In addition, there are some vitamins and minerals on the Shakeology nutrition label that I know I need more of that aren’t present at all, or are present in smaller amounts, in the FitMiss option. Vitamin D, folate, and magnesium are things I look for, for example. You may have different dietary needs that FitMiss covers. Or you may simply want the option with fewer calories and less sugar to fit in with your goals, and in that case, FitMiss definitely wins.

Overall, Shakeology has superior ingredients and I’d personally feel better about consuming this one over FitMiss Delight. I do still think it’s overpriced and tend to mix in some days of other shakes (like the Primal Kitchen one) to stretch how long a bag of Shakeology lasts. I do not purchase it often simply because of the price.
